Treak Cliff Cavern

We are delving into the second phase of interpretation implementation at the Treak Cliff Cavern Visitor Centre, Castleton.
Our work with Treak Cliff Cavern begins again after a busy summer for this famous Peak District show cave.
Having created a comic, animation, activity booklet and colouring downloads, we are now moving onto fitting out the new museum and replacing existing interpretation panels on the way up to and at the exit from the cavern. We are also creating a huge photowall at the shop entrance and creating physical, interactive puzzles. A 3D map and short films of the cavern are also being produced under our guidance.
We will tell six key stories through these outputs – the Cavern as a whole, the geology of Treak Cliff, lead mining, Blue John,  early tourism and the family who have owned and managed the show cave since the 1920s. We hope that all interpretation is installed for Easter 2018.
