Projects | Warwickshire heritage comics

inHeritage has worked with the Warwickshire County Field Archaeology Service twice to produce comics about different aspects of the county's heritage aimed at 7 - 9 year olds. Both feature stories, facts, jokes and activities including our now popular What's Wrong scenes which show a typical street in the past littered with modern inventions.
Buried under Bidford brought to life the Romano-British period based on archaeological sites found in the Bidford area. We produced two stories set in AD 50 and AD 254 featuring time-travelling children researching the online version of Warwickshire County Council's Historic Environment Record.
Gunpowder Plot! was a new departure for an inHeritage comic. The West Midlands Museum, Library and Archives Service were so impressed by Buried Under Bidford that they commissioned a comic about the Warwickshire connection with the 5th of November gunpowder plot. As part of this project we delivered two cartoon workshops in local schools to teach drawing skills and gather ideas to incorporate into the comic.
