Archaeological Publications

managing | copywriting | DTP

With seventeen years' archaeological experience in all periods in Britain and France, we have the skills and knowledge to produce a range of archaeological publications. Whether organising and presenting site data, communicating stories to a wider audience or managing the publication process, we can meet your requirements.

Bill Bevan has authored two popular publications and is currently working on a further two. Already in print are The Upper Derwent: 10,000 years in a Peak District valley, a 50,000 word local landscape history published by Tempus, and The Romans on the Don, a 4,000 word thematic introduction to Iron Age and Roman sites excavated in advance of aggregates quarrying in Doncaster. Bill is now writing and taking photographs for Exploring Ancient Peakland, a 25,000 word guide to the prehistoric to early Medieval sites of the Peak District, and Sheffield's Golden Frame, a 10,000 word moorland history.

We can produce various formats including site reports, regional and period syntheses, journals, popular guidebooks and comics. We supply the following services: research, copywriting, photography, copyediting and proof reading, reconstruction drawing, site plans, image research, desk top publishing and publication management. We are also keen to enable community groups to produce their own publications by assisting with copywriting, editing, proof-reading, photography and Photoshop imaging. We can provide training in any of these areas or carry out specific tasks in collaboration. Please contact us to discuss your assigment.
